Home Group are a housing association, social enterprise and charity with a turnover of over £400m. They are one of the UK’s largest providers of high quality housing and integrated housing, health and social care.
Inspiro has supported Home Group for several years, supporting their employees to develop the skills they need to deliver excellent care and accommodation to customers and their communities. The Home Group Apprenticeship Programme demonstrates Inspiro’s capability to offer a bespoke solution that is underpinned by three pillars:
- Compelling apprenticeship pathways that support care colleagues from entry level to management;
- A national structure of delivery staff; and
- A dedicated account and performance management function.
The Home Group apprenticeship programme consists of a range of apprenticeship programmes including an adult care pathway, from Level 2 to Level 5, along with apprenticeships which support central functions such as administration; giving Home Group employees the opportunity to develop and benefit from a tailored apprenticeship programme.
Progression and retention are at the heart of these models, allowing every Home Group employee to realise their potential. These programmes are delivered through a national team of Home Group/Inspiro managers and apprenticeship trainers. Operational delivery is underpinned by a dedicated account and performance management function, offering resource to Home Group across every aspect of programme management. Combined, these approaches provide an intelligent and compelling solution that puts Home Groups objectives and brands at the heart of the programmes design.
Vicci Dawson is a prime example of how the Home Group apprenticeship programme has supported her career development. Vicci enrolled on the Level 2 Business Administration and then laterally the Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship. Speaking about her experience Vicci said:
‘My overall experience with everyone at Inspiro while studying for my level 2 and 3 has been a really wonderful one. There have been times where I have thought “gosh I really cannot do this, have I bitten off more than I can chew here?’, however having a trainer like Helen changed all of that. She has supported me all the way through, going above and beyond to reassure me and make sure I’m ok. I would not be where I am today without her and we seem to have become friends in a way which is really great.
I have been super stressed out as I am now doing my end point assessments but after meeting Claire from Inspiro Assessments for my presentation exam I now realise all the worry was for nothing. We spoke on the phone before meeting a couple of times so when I met her she wasn’t really a stranger. She had the most amazing way about her that put me at ease throughout my exam. A quality I hope to have myself in the future. In a way I am my own worst enemy. I put too much pressure on myself but the ladies at Inspiro really are the gems that every apprentice needs to help them shine and see what they really are capable of’.
